(Seoul, Korea; Taipei, Taiwan) Monaco Government Tourist Bureau Asia Office, led by Benoit Badufle, successfully held its inaugural roadshow in Seoul and in Taipei. Guests – including journalists, travel agents, corporate clients and VIPs – were undoubtedly impressed by what Monaco has to offer, as Monaco debuts in these two capital cities for the first time. On top of the usual destination presentations, a small art and photo showcase was also held for guests to connect emotionally with Monaco.
The Tourism Day was divided into three segments – Luxury & Lifestyle Media Lunch, Travel Trade High Tea, and Soiree Monaco for VIPs. This allows Monaco to reach the main target groups for travel, especially the high-end customers at the VIP event who have been on the rise in the last decade in Seoul and Taipei.
Monaco Tourism Roadshow in Seoul took place in SongEun ArtSpace, a contemporary art gallery in upscale Gangnam District in Seoul. Whereas the equivalent in Taipei took place in two locations: The Sherwood Taipei – a popular 5-star hotel in Taipei boasting many bespoke events in its premises; and Beata Te Ristorante Italiano – a high-end restaurant in upscale Xinyi District. These locations provide a luxurious setting for the event, accentuating the exclusivity of Monaco as a destination.
Many high-profile guests graced our events in Seoul: Mr. Seok-joh HONG – Honorary Consul of Monaco in Korea and Chairman of BFG retail, Ms. Jeong-Eun HYUN – Chairlady of Hyundai group, Ms. Isabelle HAHN – Chief Consultant for C.I.C bank & Airbus Industries in Korea Group who brought with her the former Ambassador of Korea to France & Monaco, Ms. Chul Ki JU – President of the Overseas Koreans Foundation… Important personalities from CJ Media, Korea’s TV production powerhouse company had been invited in an attempt from the organising side to get a Korean production shoot in Monaco. Mr. Richard KIM – Director of LHW Korea was present as well as 3 alumni of the International University of Monaco who were delighted to share their Monaco experience and fond memories with their fellow citizens.
Likewise, in Taipei, we were honoured to have Mr. Achim Von HAKE – General Manager of Sherwood Taipei and a travel industry heavyweight of Taiwan, Mr. Benjamin LIAO – Chairman of Forte Hotel Group, Mr. Fabrice de MURAT – Managing Partner of Modena Motori/Ferrari Maserati dealerships in Taiwan who brought with him the head of the Taiwan Ferrari Owner’s Club, and Mrs. Irene LIAO Director of Private Clientele Accounts for Moet Hennessy who brought Dom Perignon 2006 Champagne for the guests’ enjoyment.
